Kottayam: A woman from Kuroppada, Kottayam was found dead in Meenachilal at 11.15 last night. Soumya (39), daughter of Sukumaran and wife of Sumesh from Ayarkunnam, died at Kuroppada East. The police received a complaint that the girl was missing yesterday evening. The body was later found in Kidangoor. The mystery surrounding the incident continues.

Soumya, an employee of a private financial institution in Ettumanoor, was not seen even in the evening. He searched several places but did not get any information and informed the police. The body was found in a river near the Kidangoor pump house after a search of the mobile tower location. Soumya’s scooter was found nearby and the police decided to search the river. The fire brigade was then called. Soumya’s body was found by firefighters near the pump house. The body was found with his hands tied with a shawl. Police have found a note in the vehicle which is believed to belong to Soumya.

Soumya says in a note that she thinks she is in a severe financial crisis. The memorandum states that even taking loans is not enough to overcome the financial crisis. Police are investigating the note. The initial statement given by the relatives was that there were no other significant problems at home. Her husband Sumesh is an employee of a private company. She also has a daughter. Soumya lived with her family in Ayarkunnath with them.

The family has come to the scene demanding an inquiry into Soumya’s death. According to a preliminary statement received by the police, Soumya had recently taken a loan of Rs 15 lakh from relatives and friends. Police are investigating where the money was spent. Police are investigating phone calls and messages received on Soumya’s mobile phone.

According to the relatives, the phone calls of the two youths have caused a dispute in the family. Police are investigating whether their involvement led to Soumya’s death. The police are trying to clarify why the family members’ statements were recorded.

There are eyewitnesses who came to Soumya Ayarkunnam in the evening from a money transfer company in Ettumanoor. Police found that Soumya had gone to Kidangoor, which is miles away, after reaching near her house. Kidangoor CI Biju KR said that an attempt was being made to clarify the incident through scientific examination.
