Malayalam News – Olympic medal | Do not share that maximum; It is not generosity; Olympic medal shared by law | News18 Kerala, Sports Latest Malayalam News

An image related to the sharing of the gold medal in the Olympic high jump men’s category went viral on social media yesterday. Gianmarco Tampere of Italy and Mutas Issa Barshim of Qatar climbed 2.37 meters. Despite being given three more chances, neither of them was able to cross that height. Meanwhile, the Italian player was injured. At this point, the Qatari athlete Barshim asked the Olympic officials if they would share the gold medal, and then shared the medal. Following this, the image of the two embracing was widely shared on social media as the generosity of the Qatari star. However, the former secretary of the Sports Council and Calicut University coach, Dr. Mohd. Says Mohammad Ashraf.

Mohammed Ashraf said in a Facebook post that Italy ‘s Gian Marco Tambery had also won Olympic high jump gold because of his kindness and generosity, portraying Qatar’s high jump world champion Amuatas Barshim as a marvelous character. Barshim, who is familiar with the medal-sharing rule, told the referee that the two had lost in the 2.39m. In a Facebook post, Mohammad Ashraf points out that this is how the medal sharing was done according to the law.

Don’t go after this mistake anymore
It is spreading like wildfire
So I’m impatient with the messages coming in my inbox and personal phone. Due to his kindness and generosity in portraying Qatar’s famous high jump world champion Amuatas Barshim as a fictional character, Italy’s Gian Marco Tambery also won Olympic high jump gold.

As soon as the competition was over, I found out where it was going, and according to the High Jump Tie Breaker rule, two people who crossed the 2.37m height won a gold medal and the Belarusian man, who needed one more chance to cross the same height, won a medal.
But I got sixty comments questioning my eligibility for it and let me tell them one thing I am ultimately an athletic coach who teaches this law ..!

It is rumored that Bershim asked the referee to end the match due to the injury of the Italian and to share the gold medal with both of us. He immediately shook his head and agreed ..!
But that is a mistake.

In high jump, if two people jump on the same height at the same chances, a tie breaker is required at the end and the bar is raised one step.
If the event remains tied for first place the jumpers have a jump-off, beginning at the next height above their highest success. Jumpers have one attempt at each height.

Here’s a chance for each height.
Law

With both failing at 2.39
Barshim, who is familiar with the law of medal sharing between the two, informed the referee that this was how the medal sharing was done according to the law.
That is why the emotional story is spread that the injured Italian was able to participate in the gold due to the great mind of the Qatari jumper ..!

There is no Salomon Law on Athletics for sharing a medal at someone’s suggestion, so if any referee decides, his place will be different.

And don’t forget that the Olympic Committee and the World Sports Court are there to ask and enforce the rules

He is now a 37 – year – old Belarusian. The next question is why the gold medal was not given
The answer to them is that he does not come in this last tie breaker because he needed one more chance to climb that height later.

But then another question is why he was not given silver

It is defined by the makers of this law as a run after 2 gold or 2 first place and one third place.

So if you understand things and look at sports emotionally rather than as sports, you will make similar mistakes.
So no more inquiries …

Dr. Mohammad Ashraf
