Mammooka unit slept in the car as no one came, it was a big job for us: Director TS Saji

Director TS Saji shares his experiences with Mammootty. Saji said that though Mammootty was coming to the set, they did not come, he came earlier and stayed for a while and slept in the unit car and later gave them the job. Saji said this in an interview with Master Bin.

‘Mammooka brings positive energy when he comes in the morning. Say good morning to everyone. Even if we don’t say it there, it will say it here. Sean asks what it is. Mamooka never bothers directors.

When I was assistant director, he came and asked me if he could drop me off at 7 o’clock. He didn’t say he would go. Just asking if I could leave. There was a location shift that day. I told Mamooka that. Mamooka said that if he comes early, he can finish it.

We went to the lodge between shifts and came back after taking a shower. When he came, there was no Mamooka. One person says he said that when he asked if the person who said he had to leave at seven o’clock hadn’t arrived. Mamooka said you were sleeping in the unit car as you did not come. We were embarrassed.

Then I told someone and brought some tea and water to wash my face and called Mamooka. Mamooka said where were you, it’s been an hour since I came. We talked about it. To be honest, we got a job. So Mammooka is a person who does not cause any problem on location,’ said TS Saji.

Meanwhile, the shooting of Kathal, directed by Jio Baby and featuring Mammootty and Jyothika in the lead roles, has been completed.
Mammootty and Jyothika’s roles in the film were already finalized. Mammootty’s parts were done first. Mammootty celebrated the last day of the film’s shoot by serving biryani with Jyothika.

The name of the character played by Mammootty in the film is Mathew Devasi. In the film, this character contests as a left-wing independent candidate in the panchayat elections. The film was officially announced on October 18, Jyothika’s birthday.
