A Japanese man in his 80s, who had been driving without a license for 60 years, was arrested on charges of driving without a license after violating traffic signals.
The Asahi Shimbun reported on the 2nd that the driver of a light car in his 80s was arrested on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (driving without a license) after being caught by the police on patrol in Zama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.
In a police investigation asking for a license, the man stated, “I learned to drive from a senior when I was a teenager, but I never got a license.” Police believe the man has been driving without a license for more than 60 years.
