‘Man Utd-Real interest’ Pochettino: “Tottenham is still my team-home”

[OSEN=우충원 기자] “I still think of Tottenham as my team and home”.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino said in an interview published in the Daily Mail on the 10th (hereafter Korean time), “Life at Tottenham was a really great time. I still think of Tottenham as my team and home.”

He continued, “If you give your all when you have a strong will to succeed, your passion will inevitably grow. And if you receive a lot of support, it will be an unforgettable memory.”

Pochettino, who left Tottenham and took over as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) manager, is currently unstable at the club, but is receiving calls from many big clubs.

Recognized for his friendly attitude and player development, coach Pochettino has emerged as the number one successor to Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Pochettino had great success at Tottenham. After taking the helm of Tottenham in May 2014, he finished second in the Premier League in his first year in office and led them to the runner-up of the UEFA Champions League in the 2018-2019 season. As much as his performance, his aggressive tactics earned him great support from fans and club leaders. In November 2019, he was dismissed for poor grades and transferred to PSG.

Pochettino said, “You should always know the culture and history of the club well. That is the most important thing. If you are assigned to a new club, you have to understand the characteristics of the club well.” /10bird@osen.co.kr
