Manchester United appoints Rangnick as new manager 6 months interim supervision

English Premier League (EPL) Manchester United (Man United) has appointed manager Ralph Rangnick (Germany) as the interim manager.

Manchester United announced on the club’s website on the 29th (Korean time) that “Manager Rangnick will take over as interim manager until the end of this season.”

After completing his managerial role, he will serve as a club advisor for two years.

On the 21st, Manchester United sacked manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and replaced coach Michael Carrick on the grounds of poor performance.

Afterwards, United, who were looking for a new manager, chose Rangnick, who has experience on the German stage.

Rangnick has coached Stuttgart, Schalke 04, Hoffenheim and Leipzig in the German Bundesliga. He also worked as a director of Koromotiv Moscow (Russia) after moving through Salzburg (Austria).

Known as the father of modern German football, Rangnick is known to have inspired Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, famous for his ‘gegen pressing’ tactic.

He is also the mentor of Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.

“I am delighted to be joining Manchester United,” said Rangnick, who took over at Manchester United.

As of this season, United are 8th in the league (18 points).

Coach Rangnick is expected to lead the team after issuing a British visa. A home match against Arsenal on December 3 is expected to be the debut match.
