[마이데일리 = 최병진 기자] Manchester United’s victory seemed like destiny.

Manchester United won 2-0 in the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle at Wembley Stadium in London, England on the 27th (Korea time).

Manchester United took the lead in the 32nd minute. Luke Shaw took a free kick from the left flank and Casemiro headed the ball into the net. Manchester United beat Newcastle. Five minutes later, Marcus Rashford broke into the penalty box and scored an extra goal with a left-footed shot.

Man United, who kept a clean sheet, lifted the championship cup in six years. Manchester United’s last title was in 2017, when manager José Mourinho won the UEFA Europa League trophy. Coach Erik Ten Haag, who took over this season, wrote history by winning the championship in the first season.

After winning the championship, Manchester United coach Eric ten Haag said, “We won the championship, but this is the first step for Manchester United to return to where they should be. He had a strong will to win. The trophy is the symbol of Man United. Our winning mentality has been restored.”

Man United told an amazing story through official social media. Manchester United also played against Newcastle in the FA Cup final on 22 May 1999. United subsequently won 2–0, with Teddy Sheringham wearing the number 10 shirt and Paul Scholes scoring the number 18.

14 years later, in the final game against the same opponents, Rashford (number 10) and Casemiro (number 18) scored to win and relive the moment of glory. Also, Scholes and Rashford, from Manchester United Youth, had a more valuable moment by scoring in the final.
