Many years for V-103, Majic, River, B98.5,

Set up primarily on Monday, February 11, 2019 at RODNEY HO/rho@ajc.com on his blog AJC Radio & TV Talk

For the third consecutive year, News 95.5 and AM 750 were the No. 1 station every month of the year.

Although ratings were down for a year, the WSB was able to guide it clearly over 97.1 / The River and V-103.

Amongst the most recent growth in Atlanta's stations is Majic 107.5 / 97.5, The River, Rock 100.5, Joy 93.3, 92.9 / The Game and B98.5.

Among those who received a sale were Kiss 104.1, Section 105.7 and Recommendation 102.5.

There were two decades in Atlanta radio, although some changes were underway by the end of the year, including the end of Mix 87.7, the change of patron to Latin pop and morning show changes by V-103, Begins and Bull.

And while the show was launched Bert Exhibition. 1 among 25 to 54 year olds, Jason Bailey and "Southside" Steve Rickman on Rock 100.5 of the Bert Exhibition at the top of the 18-to-34 show for the first time. despite a weaker signal.

Ratings cover the Nielsen Media rankings for the first 48 weeks in 2018. All of the time is omitted last month, which often means during Christmas holidays, throwing out listening habits. (Fish 104.7, that way, the last month won for its temporary annual transfer to Christmas music, jumping to 8.6)

Here is a quick summary of 2018 rankings by genre

R & B / hip-hop

V-103 General No. 3 overall and there was no re-launch in the rating since 2017. The transfer to Frank and Wanda from Ryan Cameron did not hurt them as station No. 1 in main drama: 25 to 54 and 18 to 34.

But V-103 reached a surprise start on the morning show earlier this year, giving a younger host to support Frank Ski.

Majic (5.16) was placed in front of Kiss (4.07) in the R & B space, and Majic finished fifth overall and Kiss fell to the ninth place from the third place. There was a relatively hot 107.9 flat apartment and a 94.5 Street increased significantly, especially with its morning show featuring Yung Joc and Mo Quick.

OG 97.9 (1.23) was consistently held and 96.7 / The Beat beat several more listeners in the highly crowded black listeners market.

Pop

Three of the pop stations – Power 96.1 (3.93), Q99.7 (4.22) and Star 94.1 (3.56) – were more or less rated in 2018 vs. 2017. But B98.5 grew up by 21 percent and only won the whole race but the show 25 to 54. Q99.7 stayed at the top among people between the ages of 18 and 34. Although Bert Show's number fell slightly, it's the biggest pop morning show at home.

News / Discussion

WSB continued to drive the wave of hot political news in 2018 although the number of numbers was up to a strong rating of 8.25 from 9.475 in 2017.

There are 90.1 / WABE (3.99) up to 45 per cent in hearing from 2015. The RPR NPR 88.5 / WRAS (0.78) station consisted of a fixed, and around a fifth of WABE audiences.

Discussion 106.7 (1.7) held its overall ratings over the same year over the year despite its line changes.

Rock

97.1 / The River (6.54) has a spurt growing three years, finishing its strongest year to date, scoring V-103 on the second spot.

Rock 100.5 (3.08) has been the best year to date, up 50 percent over two years, and the morning show is at the heart of No. 1 among younger listeners.

Section 105.7 (1.5) had another false year, with a new set-up morning show, down 43 percent over two years. He dropped out of the top 10 among people aged 18 to 34 years.

Country

101.5 and 94.9 / The Bull, as usual, saw a race close. Last year, Beginning starts on the Bull. This time, the Bull came forward with an average of 4.02 vs. 3.7 for Boot. The Bull also won the battle among people between the ages of 18 and 34 years of age and 25 to 54 year olds.

Christian

This was another good year for Fish 104.7 (5.05), a Christian pop station, which finished the overall fifth. The Gospel (3.32) lost 15 percent of its listeners and dropped to the 15th place from the 11th place. Christian Christian Joy 93.3 again created 69 percent over two years, the largest jump in one of the top 20 stations.

Sport

92.9 / The other high game won with 3.2 overall ratings, the best year since its beginning in 2012. Rival 680 / 93.7 The Fan Watch (1.87) also has a number of years of growth over the year.

Others

105.3 / The Patron, after a huge fall in the rankings in recent years, has just returned over 1 rating. years. Translate it to a Latin pop in November.

91.9 / Clark 91.9, the jazz station, after a fall in 2017, lost a couple of more hearings in 2018.

In the ratings below, I must exclude Mix 87.7 because the owner stopped subscribing to the Nielsen party through the year. And while Streetz was the same in November, I had even 11 months of data and the input was only the last month.

In addition, there were 99X of the year of FM dial due to intrusion issues and so I left that station. (It's back in the air in 2019). And Jazz did not sign 101.9 and Power 92.3 so that their numbers did not show up.
