The big budget movie ‘Marakkar’ which is eagerly awaited by the Malayalee cinema lovers will hit the theaters all over the world tomorrow. Apart from Malayalam, the film will be released in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi on 4100 screens worldwide. Total 16000 shows on release day. The producers have also announced that the film will be in the 100 Crore Club only through pre-release bookings.
The movie will be screened in 631 theaters in Kerala alone from tomorrow. Marakkar has also set a record in fan shows. According to Mohanlal Fans’ charts a week ago, special screenings have been organized in more than 600 theaters. There are also over 1000 fan shows worldwide. The number may increase in the final list. Globally, Marakkar has a theatrical count of Tamil, Telugu and Hindi superstar films. The release of a Malayalam film in so many theaters is a historic event. With this, the film is sure to get a record opening.
The first fan shows will start at 12 midnight in many important centers in Kerala. From then until midnight, 24 hours of continuous performances are charted in many major theaters. Marakkar is the dream project of Priyadarshan and Mohanlal. Before Kovid’s arrival, the trailer for the film, which had a fixed release date, had been released. The film, which was supposed to arrive in March 2019, however, went on indefinitely in the Kovid situation. It’s been more than two and a half years since it hit theaters.
Marakkar is a record-breaking film on a budget. This is the first 100 crore budget film in Malayalam. The film stars Mohanlal, Arjun, Sunil Shetty, Prabhu, Manju Warrier, Suhasini, Keerthi Suresh, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Fazil, Siddique, Nedumudi Venu, Innocent and Ashok Selvan in the lead roles. Production design is by Sabu Cyril. Cinematography by Thirunavukkarash, Editing by Ayyappan Nair. The script is written by Ani IV Sasi along with Priyadarshan.
