Priyadarshan – Mohanlal’s movie ‘Marakkar: The Lion of the Arabian Sea’ (Marakkar) making video has been released by the lineup. The video captures many of the crucial scenes of the film, which is set on the largest canvas in Malayalam so far. The video shows Mohanlal’s dynamism and flexibility in the battle scenes and the ship scenes depicted in the huge reservoir. A one minute long video has been released.
Marakkar was the highest grossing pre-release hype in Malayalam in recent times due to a number of reasons, including the first 100 crore budget film in Malayalam, a history drama starring Priyadarshan and Mohanlal, and a casting involving foreign language actors. Prior to its release, the film had edited several records. The film has the highest theatrical count of any Malayalam film. The film reached 626 screens in Kerala and 4100 screens worldwide. On the day of release, a total of more than 600 fan shows were held in Kerala. Producer Ashirwad Cinemas had announced that the film, which had started booking tickets two weeks before its release, had grossed Rs 100 crore.
