On the afternoon of the 16th, the MBC program ‘Straight’, which deals with the ‘7-hour phone call’ of Kim Gun-hee, spouse of presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, who is the power of the people, was broadcast on an electronic board at the MBC building in Sangam-dong, Seoul on the afternoon of the 16th. yunhap newsMBC’s current affairs program ‘Straight’ has decided not to follow up on the ‘7-hour call transcript’ of Kim Gun-hee, spouse of presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, who is the power of the people.

On the 20th, a side of ‘Straight’ said on their website, “The production team of ‘Straight’ broadcast the contents of Kim Gun-hee’s transcript on the 159th broadcast on January 16th and conducted follow-up coverage as the social impact was great.” As a result of reviewing various conditions such as the amount of content, we decided not to broadcast the related content on the 160th episode on January 23.” He continued, “We plan to faithfully cover and report the verification reports on presidential candidates and their families through MBC’s news desk.”

Earlier, ‘Straight’ revealed some of the contents of the conversation between Kim Geon-hee and Lee Myung-soo, a reporter for the Voice of Seoul on the 16th. In addition, if Mr. Kim’s side requests additional counter-review reports, he has said that it will be reflected in the next broadcast.

The cancellation of the follow-up report, which was originally supposed to be aired on the 23rd, seems to have been affected by the negative reaction to the broadcast on the 16th. During the broadcast at the time, Kim’s disparaging remarks about ‘MeToo’ became a problem, but there were many evaluations that the content was below expectations, and there was a reaction that favorable feelings toward Kim increased, even as the number of fancafe members supporting Kim increased rapidly.

Kim has already applied to the court for an injunction against broadcasting against MBC for additional disclosure of transcripts. The interrogation date is set for the morning of the 21st.
