Few cricket bowlers in the world do not know the bat warmth of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. When Sachin stood at the crease famous bowlers were afraid to bowl.
However, there were a few bowlers that Sachin was afraid to face. Most interestingly, they were not famous fast bowlers or spin wizards. In various interviews, Sachin revealed the names of the bowlers he feared. Sachin used to fear the balls of former Pak player Abdul Razak and former South African player and captain Hansi Cronje.
During the period 2000-2006, Sachin was dismissed six times by Abdul Razak. Sachin also revealed that Hansi Cronia was another bowler that he found it difficult to get runs from. Sachin has been dismissed five times in Tests and three times in ODIs by the South African player. Recently, Abdul Razzaq said in a podcast show that Sachin’s words that he finds it difficult to face his balls is a big compliment.
Sachin also revealed that he was unable to enjoy batting when Cronia was bowling. ‘To be honest, I’ve been kicked out by Cronia a few times. When we played in South Africa, Cronje got me out more times than Alan Donald or Shaun Pollock. Every time his ball was hit, it seemed to go straight into a fielder’s hand. “I didn’t know what to do with his balls,” said Sachin in an interview.
The cricketing world listened with interest to the words of Sachin, who easily faced world class bowlers like Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne and Wasim Akram.
