Meeting with military service broker, level 1 → level 4… Epilepsy trick of professional players?

We told you that the prosecution is investigating a case of military service corruption that was disguised as ‘epilepsy’ symptoms, and the subject of the investigation is expanding into the world of professional sport. It has been confirmed that other professional sports players, including current professional volleyball players, have also been investigated.

This is Reporter Lee Tae-kwon.

It has been confirmed that Jo Jae-seong, the striker of OK Financial Group’s professional volleyball team, is involved in corruption in the military service with epilepsy.

Jo, who is 27 this year, was awarded first degree in her early 20s, and in 2020, the third degree, which is the active target, came out.

However, after being suddenly diagnosed with ‘epilepsy’ in January last year, in February this year, he was reduced to a grade 4 supplementary role for social workers.

It is known that Jo, through an expert channel on a portal site, met with a former military researcher and broker for military service, Moo Mo, and transferred over 10 million won for counseling.

On the 25th, Jo, who was notified of the attendance investigation by the Seoul Southern District Prosecutor’s Office, told the club that he was the target of the investigation.

Cho was identified as a separate person from the current seven people the prosecution had already investigated for suspected corruption in the military service with epilepsy.

It has been confirmed that the prosecution and the joint investigation team of the Ministry of Military Manpower are investigating allegations of corruption in military service by players in professional sports other than professional volleyball to which Jae-Sung Cho belongs.

An official from the prosecution said that he could not identify the sport because the investigation was ongoing, but that he was investigating a number of professional sports players, including football.

Another officer said the number had reached the 10 line.

All of them complain of epilepsy and are suspected of being exempted from military service or treating the degree of judgment.

It is worth noting how much the scope of the prosecution will increase in the future, considering that the investigation into corruption in the military service confirms the accusations of athletes in different sports from the initial stage.
