Namyang Dairy Chairman Hong Won-shik’s wife, Lee Woon-kyung, has recently been accused of violating the ban on private gatherings of more than five people (violation of the Infectious Disease Prevention Act).
According to the police on the 20th, the Seongbuk Police Station in Seoul received a complaint that the torture was violating the Infectious Disease Prevention Act earlier this month and is investigating the related contents. According to the police, the accusation was made by an employee who worked at the house of Chairman Hong and his wife.
It is known that this advisor hosted a dinner party of five or more people at his home in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul on June 19th. At that time, ‘private gatherings of more than 5 people’ were prohibited in accordance with the steps to maintain distance in the metropolitan area.
Lee, who served as the organizer of the Art Busan event held in Busan last May, is said to have had dinner at his home to thank those involved in the event at the time.
Previously, the advisor’s husband, Chairman Hong, apologized to the public in May when Namyang Dairy’s dairy product, Vulgaris, caused controversy by announcing that it was effective in suppressing COVID-19. At the time, he announced that he would resign as chairman, but three months later, he still maintains his position as chairman.
