‘Messi we are waiting for you’; Threats after shooting in supermarkets in Argentina

Buenos Aires: Shooting in a supermarket owned by the family of Argentine soccer legend Lionel Messi’s wife. Two armed men entered the supermarket and opened fire. The shooting happened at the Unico supermarket in Rosario, the Associated Press reported. According to the report, the attackers had threatened Messi.

‘Messi, we are waiting for you. Javkin is also a drug dealer. So he won’t protect you,’ the threatening message said. The attackers returned after writing a threatening message on a card board in the supermarket. Meanwhile, the actor has not responded to the threat message.

Javkin, who is mentioned in the threatening message, is the mayor of Rosario City. After the incident, the mayor said in a radio interview that those who are supposed to go after the attackers did not do so. ‘People who have weapons and are charged with investigating criminals don’t do that. It is very easy for any gang to do anything like this,’ said the mayor.

No one was injured in the shooting. The market is owned by the parents of Messi’s wife, Antonella Roccuzzo. The motive behind the attack is not clear.
