France : Argentina star Lionel Messi has been accused of destroying the earth and contributing to climate change due to his excessive use of private jets.
Messi’s private plane made 52 trips (368 hours of flight) until August. It is reported that 1,502 tonnes of carbon dioxide was emitted through these journeys.
Messi’s plane emitted as much carbon dioxide in three months as the average French citizen emits in 150 years. This has led to harsh criticism against Messi.
