Micron and UMC Expand Business Cooperation to Strengthen Customer Supply Chain Together | Anue Juheng-Taiwan Stock News

Memory manufacturer Micron (MU-US) announced today (1) that it has expanded its business partnership with foundry UMC (2330-TW) to secure Micron’s future supply of automotive, mobile devices and key customer products .

Manish Bhatia, Executive Vice President of Global Operations of Micron, said that expanding cooperation with UMC will help strengthen customer supply chains, and it is also an excellent opportunity to deepen cooperation in the entire semiconductor industry.

Manish Bhatia emphasized that this cooperation allows Micron to continue to provide key products for automotive and mobile device customers. He also looks forward to cooperating with UMC to provide global customers with Micron’s memory and storage solutions in the next few years.

UMC General Manager Wang Shi also said that he is very pleased to have the opportunity to work with Micron to meet customer needs. In order to meet the current and future challenges of customers, cooperation in the semiconductor industry is more critical than ever.

After years of litigation, UMC and Micron jointly issued a joint statement on November 26, announcing that they have reached a global settlement agreement and each withdraws the litigation filed against each other. At the same time, UMC will pay Micron a one-time confidential settlement fee, and the two parties will jointly create Commercial cooperation opportunities.
