Microsoft (MS) acquires Activision Blizzard.
On the 18th, foreign media reported that Microsoft had agreed to acquire Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion. That’s well over the $26 billion Microsoft paid to acquire LinkedIn in 2016.
The acquisition is the largest deal in Microsoft’s gaming space and, if finalized, will make it the third-largest company in terms of revenue after Tencent and Sony.
Microsoft plans to add Blizzard’s games to Xbox Game Pass once the acquisition is complete. Blizzard owns famous franchises such as ‘World of Warcraft’, ‘Diablo’, ‘Call of Duty’ and ‘Overwatch’. There are currently 25 million Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
