“We are still monitoring the situation”
[천지일보=김성완 기자] The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on the 15th that no damage to the Korean people has been reported so far in relation to the tornado that hit the central part of the United States, which has killed about 80 people so far.
An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a phone call with the Cheonji Ilbo that day, “The situation has been recent until the 13th (local time).
An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also met with reporters the day before and explained, “No damage to our people has been reported until this morning.”
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there are about 70,000 Koreans living abroad in five states, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, and Arkansas, which were hit by the tornado.
Earlier, major foreign media reported that dozens of tornadoes occurred in the central U.S. on the 10th (local time), killing about 80 people in six states including Kentucky, Arkansas, Illinois, Missouri and Tennessee.
