“Even if the Japanese imperialists try to invade our sovereignty again, we will conquer it with an unceasing fighting spirit. Dokdo is our land.”

When Congressman Jeon Yong-gi revealed his visit to Dokdo on his SNS, the Japanese government immediately protested through various diplomatic channels.

The director of the Japanese Foreign Ministry called the Korean Embassy in Japan to protest, and the Japanese Embassy in Korea also asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to prevent this from happening again.

Toshimitsu Motegi, secretary general of the Liberal Democratic Party, who is being discussed as a possible next prime ministerial candidate, met with reporters during a visit to the United States and strongly protested, saying it was unacceptable.

“It is deeply regrettable that Japan has taken such an unacceptable response.”

Japanese media also reported that Representative Jeon Yong-gi’s visit to Dokdo was significant, but NHK analyzed that this visit to Dokdo appeared to be a reaction against Seok-Yeol Yoon’s government.

Regarding Japan’s unreasonable claim, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it dismissed it through diplomatic channels.

However, he added that he would refrain from commenting on the details of the exchange of views.

Prime Minister Kishida’s visit to Korea is four days away, so it seems the alert level has been adjusted.
