On the 25th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the personnel appointments of the heads of missions, appointing Yoo Jeong-hyeon, former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the European Union ambassador to Belgium, and Choi Hyeong-chan, former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Planning and Coordination Office, as the ambassador to the Netherlands.

The new ambassador served as director of the South Asia and Pacific Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassador to Iran, and chief of protocol. He will also serve as the ambassador of the Korean mission to NATO, which was opened in Brussels last year to strengthen relations with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO · NATO).

The newly appointed ambassador Choi served as the director of international policy at the Ministry of National Defense, the ambassador to Serbia, and the head of the Planning and Coordination Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The South Korean government appointed Lee Jang-geun, former ambassador to Egypt, former National Security Office foreign policy secretary Kim Yong-hyun, as ambassador to ASEAN, and Cho Tae-ik, South Chungcheong Province’s ambassador for international relations, as ambassador to Kazakhstan.



In addition, Min Jae-hoon, head of the National Diplomacy Center, was appointed as the ambassador to Nicaragua, Park Tae-young, former director of the International Economics Bureau, as the ambassador to Nepal, Jeong Woo-jin, former minister to Vietnam as the ambassador to Rwanda, and Gu Heon-sang, general transport policy officer at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, as the ambassador to Bahrain.

Bae Jong-in, deputy ambassador to the United Nations, Bae Jong-in as ambassador to Bulgaria, Kim Yong-gil, minister to Japan as ambassador to Ireland, and Ji Gyu-taek, director of new growth strategy planning at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, were nominated as ambassador to Turkmenistan.

In addition, Kang Sang-wook, Minister to China for Consulate General in Guangzhou, Kim Yo-seop, National Assembly Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee Advisor for Consul General in Sendai, Lee Seo-young, former attaché for national defense at the US Embassy in Honolulu, Shin Choong-il, Professor at Dong-A University Law School, and Yu Hyeong-cheol Yoo, Ministry of Strategy and Finance for Consul General in Ho Chi Minh, Consulate General in Hong Kong Directors of the State Treasury were appointed respectively.
