Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development: National Old Community Renovation Completes Annual Target Tasks Ahead of Time

  CCTV News:The 2021 “Government Work Report” stated that new construction projects will be started to transform 53,000 old communities in cities and towns. The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development said yesterday (November 26) that as of the end of October, 53,400 new urban and old communities have been renovated across the country, and the annual target and tasks have been completed ahead of schedule.

Based on statistics and reports from various regions, from January to October this year, 53,400 new urban and old communities were renovated nationwide, exceeding the target of 53,000 new urban and old communities proposed in this year’s “Government Work Report”. Among them, 26 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities including Shanghai, Anhui, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, Guangdong, Inner Mongolia, and Beijing have all started construction this year.

  Liu Lifeng, Deputy Director of the Urban Construction Department of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development:This year, the old districts in cities and towns will be renovated, and all regions are more experienced. These projects included in this year’s plan have actually started to do mass work in the second half of last year, so the progress has been significantly accelerated.

Liu Lifeng said that since the national “Guiding Opinions on Comprehensively Promoting the Reconstruction of Old Communities in Urban Areas” was issued last year, all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across the country have now issued relevant supporting policies, including how to raise funds through multiple channels, how to increase funding subsidies, and implement A series of policies such as tax reduction and exemption have begun to take effect, which has played an important role in accelerating the pace of the renovation of old communities this year.
