The Ministry of SMEs and Startups supports value chain-linked technology development that shares data between large and small businesses, and technology development that flexibly organizes manufacturing resources to produce products tailored to demand.

In particular, this technology development project helps to demonstrate the developed results in the field through the participation of demanding companies (large, medium-sized, small and medium-sized enterprises, etc.).

The Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups have established an effective collaboration system such as jointly holding project planning and public hearings for company-oriented technology development, and forming and promoting the ‘Steering Committee’ for efficient project management.

Lee Hyun-jo, head of the Smart Manufacturing Innovation Planning Team at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, “As the technological capabilities of companies that supply smart factories are directly related to the advancement of smart factories, we hope that this support for the smart manufacturing innovation technology development project will serve as an opportunity to diversify, upgrade, and advance the supply technology. do,” he said.

Sang-Hoon Song, Minister of Information and Communication Industry Policy at the Ministry of Science and ICT, said, “Through this smart manufacturing innovation technology development project, digital technologies such as 5G communication (5G) and artificial intelligence are applied to the manufacturing site to reduce design and production time and cost of various types of personalized products. And we expect that it will be able to contribute to the creation of new markets that inspire innovation in the manufacturing site.”
