Ministry of Strategy and Finance, Special Inspection of 63 State Treasury Subsidies… Implementation of expenditure restructuring

[아시아경제 세종=손선희 기자] The government has decided to completely overhaul subsidized projects that are funded by the state treasury. The purpose is to re-examine the private subsidized projects that have been customarily supported for the past two years from the ‘origin’ and carry out expenditure restructuring.

In a press release on the 30th, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance announced, “This year, we plan to carry out inspections through the second extension evaluation of sub-projects targeting 398 projects.” In addition, this year, along with the regular extension evaluation, 63 projects were separately selected from January to March and a special inspection was conducted.

Through this, similar overlapping projects were abolished and consolidated, and 29 subsidized projects were reduced in subsidies by adjusting the self-pay rate. In the ‘Startup Ecosystem Foundation Building Project’, the three individually organized creative economy innovation centers (innovation center operation, startup zone operation, and maker activation support) were integrated and abolished.

In addition, 33 projects that needed to strengthen the executive responsibility of the project departments were transferred to private consignment. The results of this inspection will be re-verified in the process of preparing the budget for next year, and then specific expenditure restructuring will be carried out.
