MINNEAPOLIS – Minneapolis police, as well as the FBI, engaged in the murder of a cold case almost 26 years of age.
Jeanne Ann Childs was found to be stabbed to death at Minneapolis apartment on June 13, 1993. According to Minneapolis John Elder's Public Police Information Officer, a 52-year-old man was arrested in Waite Park, Minnesota, and is likely to take place due to murder in the multiannual investigation.
Elder said that the case of a cold case task force from Minneapolis police and the FBI carried out a comprehensive review of the case in 2015, with the help of the BCA forensic laboratory.
In 2018, cold case investigators consulted the FBI and an online DNA service to try to identify DNA from the crime scene.
Through more DNA testing and "investigation of the online genealogy website," Elder said that "suspected" was detected by the DNA that was suspected in the death of 35 years of death and # Age 39 .
"We all hope that Jeanne's family can finally get peace as a result of this effort by officials and agents," said Jill Sanborn, Special Agent in the FBI Minneapolis Division Care.
The suspect is being run in the Hennepin County Command and has not yet been accused. At this point there is no relationship between the suspect and the victim.
