New Delhi: The United States has demanded that India withdraw from the move to buy S-400 missiles from Russia. India has been reluctant to buy a similar missile in the wake of US sanctions against Turkey, which had earlier bought the S-400.
India has signed a $ 543 billion contract for a five – unit S – 400. It is one of the best missiles in the world that can be launched from the ground into the sky. The missiles are expected to reach India by the end of this year.
US President Donald Trump has spoken out against the deal. New President Joe Biden is reported to be in a similar position. However, it is not clear whether the same stance taken against Turkey will be taken against India. Russia has criticized the US sanctions against Turkey.
