Milwaukee missed out on ankle pain
Choi Ji-man (31) of the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball (MLB) was evaluated as a ‘hidden All-Star candidate’.
On the 29th (Korean time), MLB.com highlighted Choi Ji-man through an article titled ‘Each team’s hidden All-Star nominee’.
MLB.com said, “There are many excellent players in the American League All-Star first baseman nominations, and everyone in Tampa Bay pays more attention to the pitcher than the hitter.”
However, the media introduced, “Choi Ji-man has never played in the All-Star Game and is having the best time of the season.”
MLB.com also introduced Choi Ji-man’s OPS+ (155) as a key score.
OPS+ is a record that evaluates the league average OPS (on-base percentage + slugging percentage) as 100.
Choi Ji-man has appeared in 52 games this season and has a batting average of 0.287, 6 homers, 35 RBIs, and an OPS of 862.
However, Choi Ji-man missed the 2022 MLB Milwaukee Brewers home match at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, USA.
The Tampa Bay Times reported on the same day, “Choi Ji-man injured his left ankle while playing base on the 26th against the Pittsburgh Pirates.”
Tampa Bay lost 3–5 that day, ending their third straight win.
