More than 2,700 US airlines canceled after winter storm hits East Coast : InfoQuest

FlightAware.com The airline, which provides information on routes, said US airlines had canceled more than 2,700 flights on Sunday, and more than 1,500 experienced delays. As winter storms and strong winds hit the US East Coast over the weekend.

According to FlightAware.com, American Airlines Group has canceled more than 600 flights, with nearly 95% of its flights departing from Charlotte International Airport. Douglas, based in North Carolina, has been canceled.

American Airlines has allowed customers affected by the bad weather this time. Flights can be rebooked again without a fee.

The US National Weather Service (NWS) said severe winter storms swept through the eastern United States on Sunday. And is likely to continue to cause damage today. Heavy snow is expected in the Appalachian and Great Lakes regions.

The NWS report also states that The hardest hit area is expected to be the Carolina region. Bad weather is expected to affect travel in the region. Governors of Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina have declared states of emergency due to winter storms.
