Police recovered a mortar shell from a pond at Akhaura in Brahmanbaria. The mortar shell was recovered on Saturday (January 21) afternoon.
North Union Parishad Chairman. Shahjahan said, ‘Abu Mia of Chanpur village in the upazila was taking soil from a small mound in front of his house two days ago. Meanwhile, the mortar shell was found. But without understanding what it is, he left it in the sink.’
He also said, ‘When the matter came to light on Saturday, he went there. Then he arranged to lift the mortar shell from the sink.’
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Akhaura police station. Asadul Islam said, ‘Police have been sent to the scene after receiving the news. Details can be said about this later.’
