Moscow boasts of Leopard tanks and is ridiculed

Russia’s Ministry of Defense has received a lot of ridicule for an alleged success story.

According to the Kremlin, Russian troops are said to have destroyed eight Leopard 2 main battle tanks in Ukraine. The Ministry of Defense also presented an alleged video evidence.

Pro-Russian military bloggers then said the video only shows the destruction of a tractor and not a Leopard tank. According to the nationalist blogger “Fighterbomber” these are even pictures from the previous year.

At the time, Kiev also did not have any Western Leopard-type main battle tanks.

German military expert Carlo Masala also quipped about the video on his Twitter account, writing: “Russia destroyed two combine harvesters, slow clap.”

Numerous users make fun of the wrong video evidence in the comments or shared memes about the failed report:

One writes: “The counter-offensive has the code word: harvest time.”

Another says: “Yes, the second best army in the world shows what it can do.”

One writes: “Was it celebrated in Moscow with so much vodka that it ended up being leopards?”

Germany delivered the most Leopard tanks to Ukraine.

They are to help the country recapture its Russian-held territories during the planned offensive. In the past, the Russian Ministry of Defense has repeatedly exaggerated its success reports.
