Attingal: A mother and her son have been arrested in connection with the theft of 75 sovereigns by a 10th class student through social media. The victim was a 15-year-old woman from Attingal. Shibin (26) and his mother Shajila (52) were arrested at Manapur Kavalayoor NS Land.
Shibin met the girl two years ago. Shibin had posted on social media describing his financial obligations. The girl who noticed this inquired about things. Shibin learned from the girl that he had kept gold in the house and demanded it. The girl was delivering the gold which was kept in a secret compartment in the cupboard. During the search, Rs 9,80,000 was recovered from the youth’s house.
