MotoGP Portuguese GP Qualifying: Fabio Quartararo is in pole position[F1-Gate.com]

The official qualifying for the 2021 MotoGP Round 3 Portuguese GP was held on Saturday, April 17th at the Autodromo International de Algarve and won Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP).

Fabio Quartararo set a new course record of 1’38.862 in dry conditions with a temperature of 23 degrees Celsius and a road surface temperature of 36 degrees Celsius. He took the pole position for the 11th time in 7 races and the 14th time in his career since the 11th round of the Aragon GP in October last year.

Alex Rins (Team SUZUKI ECSTAR) was second and Johann Zarco (Pramac Racing) was third in the first row for the second consecutive race.

Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) is 6th. Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda IDEMITSU) canceled the run after complaining of chest and clavicle pain due to the second fall of the free run.
