Movie begins, ambiguity in release | Movie Release 2021

Though movie theaters will open on the 25th in the state, it has not been decided which will be the first releases. Kerala Film Producers Association president M Ranjith said it was not clear which films would be released in the first week. A meeting of the producers will be called.

The big films ‘Maraikkar-Arabian Sea Lion’, ‘Aratt’ and ‘Thuramukham’ will not be released at this stage as only 50% of the audience has access. Post production work of Mammootty ‘Bhishmaparvam’ is in progress. There are no other major films awaiting theatrical release as the films of many leading stars have been released through OTD.

A few Tamil movies will be released on November 4. Rajinikanth’s Annathe, Manad (Chimpu) and Enemy (Vishal) are all set for a Diwali release. Rohit Shetty-Akshay Kumar movie ‘Suryavanshi’ will also be released.

The Kerala Film Chamber, an official body of producers, distributors and theater owners, welcomed the government’s decision to allow the opening of theaters. He is in talks with the government over the crisis in the film industry. Chamber president G Suresh Kumar said more details on the opening of the theaters would be announced later.

Sumesh Joseph Manarkad, state general secretary of Fiok, the theater owners’ association, said that all preparations are being made to open the theaters. Minister Saji Cherian has said that a meeting of film organizations will be convened. The organizations are hoping for more action at the meeting.
