[비즈월드] MSD Korea (CEO Kevin Peters), a Korean branch of global healthcare company MSD, announced on the 18th that it has selected actor Seo Kang-jun as this year’s advertisement model for ‘Gardasil 9’, a human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.

HPV is a sexually transmitted disease that can infect and spread to both men and women. In the case of continuous HPV infection, genital warts, anal intraepithelial tumors, and anal cancer may appear in men as well as women.

Gardasil 9 is a vaccine that prevents various diseases caused by nine types of HPV. It can prevent cervical cancer, vulvar cancer, vaginal cancer, and anal cancer occurring in women, as well as anal cancer, genital warts, and anal intraepithelial tumors in men.

This year’s advertisement begins with actor Seo Kang-joon transforming into Gardasil 9. Seo Kang-jun visits adult men, women in their 40s, and young men and women of various ages and genders who need HPV vaccination and delivers the message ‘I will protect you from HPV’. The advertisement video consists of a total of four episodes, which are first released on YouTube and then expanded to TV.

Based on the new advertisement video for Gardasil 9, MSD Korea will launch a full-scale publicity campaign to raise awareness about HPV regardless of gender and age.

“The severity and importance of HPV-related diseases are growing worldwide,” said Jae-yong Cho, Executive Vice President of MSD Korea Vaccine Division. MSD Korea will continue to provide information on HPV-related diseases and vaccines through various contents.
