Kabul: Mullah Baradar will lead the Taliban government in Afghanistan. Mulla Baradar is one of the founders of the Taliban. The Taliban will form a government with the supreme spiritual leader on the model of Iran. Hibatullah Akunzada will be the spiritual leader with authority over the army and government. Mohammed Yaqub, the son of Mullah Omar, who was on the global terror list until his death, will hold a key position in the government.

China has announced its readiness for full cooperation with the Taliban government. China has told the Taliban that it will help rebuild Afghanistan.

Kashmir; Change in Taliban stance!

The Taliban has also changed its stance on Kashmir ahead of the government’s announcement in Afghanistan. Taliban spokesman Suhail Shaheen has said that Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir have the right to speak out. According to government sources, India’s stance on the new government will be discussed with the Cabinet Committee on Security.

Jammu and Kashmir is an internal matter of India. They will settle the dispute between India and Pakistan. This was the Taliban’s first response to the Jammu and Kashmir issue since the capture of Kabul on the 15th of this month. But Taliban spokesman Suhail Shaheen spoke to the BBC’s Urdu service yesterday.

He has the right to speak for the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir. They would argue that they are entitled to equal rights. However, Suhail Shaheen said the Taliban had no intention of disarming any country. While not taking a hard line, India is taking seriously the change from its earlier statement that it is India’s internal affairs.

India’s position

India will take a position after the formation of the Taliban government after detailed discussions. Twice earlier, the Cabinet Committee on Security had met. Foreign Minister S Jayasankar said in Slovenia yesterday that an inclusive government was needed. The first goal is to ensure the security of those currently in Afghanistan. Qatar has also promised to help bring them back.

With elections looming in Uttar Pradesh, the political decision is to be wary of the Taliban. The government hopes that the Taliban will not move beyond the statement on Kashmir.
