murli vijay, he didn’t get the support that Sehwag got; Former Indian player openly against team management! – He didn’t get the freedom that Virender Sehwag got, says former opener Murali Vijay

Virender Sehwag is a cricketer who has changed the traditional Indian opening style. Sehwag, who started his career as a middle order batsman, started as an opener on the instructions of the then captain Ganguly. India’s experiment with Sehwag was a huge success. Sehwag’s style was to destroy any bowling line at the start. Apart from ODIs, Sehwag soon became India’s opener in Tests as well.

Sehwag also ranks in the group of firework openers like Sanath Jayasuriya and Adam Gilchrist. Sehwag’s batting style has given India many wins in Tests. Sachin and Sehwag were once India’s regular openers. This combination would rock any bowling line-up in the world.

Injured Shreyas Iyer ruled out of ODI series against New Zealand, his replacement announced
Along with Sehwag, Murali Vijay is one of the players who has opened for India in Tests. But Murali’s career was not as good as Sehwag’s. While Sehwag played 104 Tests for India, Murali’s Test career ended with 61. After the 2018-19 Australia tour, Murali did not get a chance in the Indian team. Now Murali Vijay’s new criticism is that he did not get the same support as Sehwag did from the team management.

“Honestly, I didn’t get the kind of support that Sehwag got from the team management. Sehwag got a chance to experiment. I didn’t get what Sehwag got in life. If I had the same support, I would have tried harder. from my side. But it didn’t happen. You get to experiment a lot while playing at the international level. It won’t come,” said Murali Vijay in a conversation with WV Raman on Sports Star. Vijay added that Sehwag is one of India’s best openers and it was a great honor to play with him.

Earlier, Murali Vijay had also criticized the BCCI. Murali’s criticism was against not considering him in the Indian team. “In India after the age of 30, the chances in the national team are less. People see us as 80-year-olds walking on the streets. The media should also address this differently, ” explained Murali. Murali Vijay has played 61 Tests for India and has scored 3982 runs at an average of 38.39. He has 12 Test centuries and 15 fifties to his name. He also played actively in IPL.
