Muscat India Social Club Cultural Award for KS Chitra

Muscat: Playback singer KS Chitra has won the Muscat Indian Social Club Cultural Award this year. The award includes two lakh Indian rupees and a statue. Muscat Indian Social Club Malayalam Section Convener P. The award was announced by the governing body headed by Sreekumar.

Convener P. Sreekumar said that he was selected for the award in recognition of his contributions to the music sector. Convenor Sreekumar will present the cultural award to KS Chitra at a ceremony to be held at the Al Felaj Le Grand Auditorium on Friday, September 23, as part of Onam celebrations in the Malayalam division this year.
Indian Ambassador Amit Narang will be the chief guest at the cultural meet held in conjunction with the award ceremony, and Babu Rajendran, General Secretary of Muscat Indian Social Club will also participate. As part of the Onam celebrations, the Malayalam category has been continuously giving the Kala Samskarika Award since 1996 to the unique talents who have shown outstanding work in the field of arts and culture.

The celebrations will start on Friday, September 23 at 6pm. This year, the Malayalam department has also organized an Onasadhya for more than 2,000 invited guests on Saturday, September 24.
