Tesla has announced that it will mass-produce a prototype of the ‘Tesla Bot’, a robot that resembles a human by the end of next year.

The American business magazine Fortune reported this on the 28th (local time), citing an interview with the German media ‘Welt am Sonntag’ by Elon Musk, CEO of the US.

Musk first introduced a humanoid robot (robot resembling a human) with the code name ‘Optimus’ in August last year. In addition, in January of this year, he said that the development of humanoid robots was more important than the launch of Tesla’s ‘Cybertruck’ and ‘Roadster’.

In this interview, he also predicted, “It will be ready for production by the end of next year at least.

He continued, “Humanoid robots are coming. Look at Boston Dynamics (a robot company acquired by Hyundai Motor Group),” he said. “They are making better models every year.”

However, Fortune magazine said that the head of Tesla’s AI division, Andrez Kapasi, took a four-month sabbatical leave, and that the general manager will be away for a long time at this point in the midst of advancing autonomous driving technology (FSD) and developing humanoid robots. pointed out that is not correct.

On the other hand, the humanoid robot Optimus specification unveiled by Tesla is 172 cm tall and weighs about 56 kg. It can run at a speed of 8 km/h and can lift objects up to 20 kg.
