PAOK won 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-22, 25-12) in the 5th round match against Amazones held at Mikra Gymnasium in Thessaloniki, Greece on the 31st (Korean time) and ran for three consecutive victories. . The season record is 4 wins and 1 loss.
PAOK’s twin sisters Jae-young Lee and Da-young Lee started side by side, and Milagross Cola (Maya), who played together with Da-young Lee and Hyundai E&C, was also included in the starting lineup.
The match started with Dayoung Lee’s serve. Da-young Lee tried to find various attack routes by not only using Jae-young Lee, but also using Maya as well as several quick attacks. Jae-Young Lee scored twice in the middle of the first set and played a big role in helping the team take the lead 15-11. Also, in the second half of the first set, he started a run-away score of 22-18 and scored a goal that signaled the end of the set. The first set was a 25-18 victory for PAOK.
PAOK took a 23-21 lead in the second set, but it was disappointing that they were overturned 23-25. However, in the third set, Jae-Young Lee’s spike exploded, leading to a 20-18 lead, and he succeeded in scoring three consecutive goals in a 22-22 tie with an opponent’s penalty, finishing 25-22 to win.
PAOK reserved the win with an 8-0 lead in the early part of the fourth set. Dayoung Lee also exploded a sub-ace giving the team a 5-0 lead. Here, Jae-Young Lee succeeded in scoring with a wide 14-3 score, and PAOK was able to easily finish the game by holding 4 sets.
On this day, Jae-Young Lee scored 10 points and Da-Young Lee scored 5 points including two sub-aces and one blocking. Maya scored 20 points, the most on the team.
Meanwhile, Dayoung Lee received the trophy at the 3rd round MVP awards ceremony held before the match and smiled brightly. The Greek Volleyball Federation selected Lee Da-young as the 3rd round MVP on the 22nd.
