My hero, all he got in return was the carriage ticket: Anish Verma remembers Mamukoya

Anish Verma, the director of ‘Niyoga’, could not believe Mamukoya’s farewell. Mamukoya’s first lead role was in Nayayat. Anish Verma says that he liked the story and acted in the film without even being paid. Mamukoya said that when the editing of the film is finished, we can quickly dub. Anish says he didn’t know he said that because he was sick and had a little problem with his voice. Anish Verma told Manorama Online that he met Mamukoya two weeks ago to talk about another film and even though he had fallen ill recently, he did not think that his hero would say goodbye so soon.

“I have known him since the film Tilakam. I told him to make a film with him as the hero. When the story of the assignment was told to him, he liked the story. He asked when do you want a date? Shot in Kattapana, Kalpatta and Palakkad. He made this film because he liked the character. There was only fifteen days of shooting. He received no payment except for a vehicle ticket. He has worked with talented directors like Priyan sir, Jayaraj sir, Sathyan Anthikad sir and I am lucky that he heard my story and acted in my film.

I was told that I had minor health problems while acting in my film. He said that once the editing is done, we can do the dubbing soon. When I asked ‘what’s wrong, Ika’, he said, let’s do it right away, come to Kozhikode. It was only later that he found out that he had minor problems with his voice. He said it was very good after seeing the film. The boy who acted in Niyoga Kerala Vision has a JC He also received an award from the Daniel Foundation. I thought he would get the award. It is desired to release Niyogam in theatres, if that is not possible then at least it should be released in OTT.

I went to see him two weeks ago. I went to say that I was planning to make another film for him. He told the news for a while. He was getting ready to go for the promotion of the film Uru. It was learned that his condition had worsened two days ago. Even then, I didn’t think he would leave us so soon. I am happy and proud that he got to play the lead role for the first time in my film as well. I was lucky enough to work with him. I am now going to take one last look at it. Realizing that it is no longer a big goal. Saying goodbye to my beloved, humanity-loving hero is a big shock.” – said Anish Verma.
