Mumbai: Narcotics Control Bureau Zonal Director Sameer Wankade, who is probing Aryan Khan’s case, has responded to allegations leveled against him by Maharashtra Minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik. He said in a statement that some people were targeting him and even making allegations against his dead mother.
Nawab Malik alleged that Sameer Wankhede was a Muslim and had tampered with the certificate in order to get reservation in the job examination. He also released documents claiming to be related to this. Nawab Malik claimed that his real name was Sameer Dawood Wankade.
Sameer Wankhede issued a statement in response to this. The publication of his personal information is defamatory and an invasion of privacy. It is an attempt to discredit himself, his family, his father and his dead mother. He said the minister’s statement had put the family mentally and emotionally stressed.
His father Dhanyadev Kachruji Wankade is a Hindu. He retired as a senior officer from the Excise Department. His mother Saheed is a Muslim. They are dead. Nawab Malik had alleged that Sameer Wankhede had changed his religion to get a job in the Scheduled Caste reservation. Malik tweeted that the certificate was Wankhede’s birth certificate. He also released pictures of Sameer Wankhede’s Nikah with Shabna Qureshi.
Sameer Wankhede said that the personal attacks and defamation against him were very painful.
Minister Nawab Malik has been on the scene with allegations against Sameer Wankhede and the NCB since the arrest of Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in the luxury ship drunkenness case. Malik alleged that Sameer Wankhede was a puppet of the BJP and was trapping Aryan Khan in the case.
Meanwhile, the NCB has ordered a vigilance probe against Sameer Wankhede after a witness in the case alleged that a deal worth Rs 25 crore was being struck to settle the drug case. Prabhakar Sail, a witness in the case, gave an affidavit stating that crores of rupees were being transacted under the cover of the Lahari case. Another witness in the case, KP Prabhakar Sail is Goswami’s bodyguard. He was accused of trying to extort money from Shah Rukh Khan, including NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede. But Sameer Wankhede has denied the allegations.
