Hong Nam-ki, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance, announced on the 29th that “Last year, exports of the big three industries, such as future cars, system semiconductors, and bio-health, reached an all-time high of $63 billion.”

Deputy Prime Minister Hong held a luncheon meeting at the government complex in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the same day, and introduced the results of the meeting containing these contents. Deputy Prime Minister Hong said, “As a result of intensively nurturing related industries through the Big 3 Promotion Conference, we achieved No. There have been results,” he explained. He added, “This year, while intensively investing 6.3 trillion won in fiscal support, financial and tax support has also been greatly strengthened, such as raising tax credits for national strategic technologies such as semiconductors, batteries, and vaccines.”

Deputy Prime Minister Hong emphasized that “a strong promotion system will continue to be needed to discover and nurture key industries like the Big 3 Promotion Conference.” While promoting the achievements of the Moon Jae-in administration, the next Yoon Seok-yeol administration also urged the ‘Big 3 Promotion Meeting’ to continue.

The Innovation Growth Big 3 Promotion Conference was launched in December 2020 to nurture three industries: future automobiles, system semiconductors, and bio-health as future growth engines. In the meantime, through a total of 20 meetings, 633 tasks were identified and countermeasures were promoted.
