Chennai: Kerala came second in the 5th National Blind Football Championship organized by the Indian Blind Football Federation. In the final of the tournament held at the Mont Fort School Ground in Chennai, Kerala lost to the mighty Meghalaya by one goal. Kerala players Samuel was selected as the best player and Sujith as the best goalkeeper.

Five Kerala players have been selected for the selection camp of the Indian team for the Blind Football International Series to be held in Oman next month. Both teams were made up of players from the National Blind Football Academy, led by the Kochi – based Indian Blind Football Federation.

Sunil J Mathew, Academy Coach and Head Coach of Indian Blind Football, said, “We are delighted to have the Blind Football Academy players on both the state teams and to be able to put in a great performance.”
