Zhang Jialang won the gold medal in the men’s foil individual event at the Tokyo Olympics. After the team competition, he flew directly to Shenzhen for isolation for 21 days and trained with the fencing team in the local area. He was originally scheduled to meet Zhang Xiaolun, Cai Junyan and Yang Zijia this morning to fly from Shenzhen to Tianjin for the National Games. However, he found his knee swelled before departure and his injury was unknown. The team arranged for him to retire and return to Hong Kong for safety reasons.
