(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Lee Sang-hyun = The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) condemns North Korea’s successive missile launches and urges them to stop.

“NATO strongly condemns North Korea’s recent missile tests which are not only dangerous but also directly contravene a number of UN Security Council resolutions,” NATO spokeswoman Oana Lungescu said in an inquiry written to Voice of America (VOA) on the 22nd to do,” he said.

“North Korea’s provocative actions undermine regional stability and jeopardize the prospects for peace on the Korean Peninsula,” he said.

Speaker Lungescu also said that all NATO allies support the goal of “complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization of North Korea” and urged North Korea to engage in meaningful dialogue to achieve this goal.

He added that NATO is in solidarity with regional partners Japan, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, and will continue to work closely with these countries in the future.

Previously, the leaders of four countries – Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand – attended the NATO Summit held in Madrid, Spain in June as partners and discussed ways to expand cooperation.

At the time, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that he would strengthen cooperation with South Korea and other partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
