Paul’s first final is over.
The Phoenix Suns lost 98-105 against the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 6 of the 2020-2021 NBA Finals held at the Milwaukee Five Forum on the 21st (Korean time).
With the series loss confirmed, Phoenix will postpone their first attempt to win the Finals in the club’s history until later. Phoenix has made it to the finals three times, but not all of them remain finalists.
Chris Paul, who reached the finals for the first time in 16 years of his debut, also came to an end. Paul, who did not have a winning ring and a kite despite his outstanding skills, seemed to have reached the right time to finally relieve his hunger this time, but it was not enough.
In the final game 6, Paul struggled with 26 points, the team’s most goals scored, but could not prevent defeat. Backcourt partner Devin Booker (19 points) suffered from difficulties, such as only 36.3% from the field, and it was painful to see Mickal Bridges, who played an active role, tied at 7 points.
Blocked by Milwaukee’s solid defense, Phoenix seldom attacked organically and could not take a lead. Paul, who averaged 9.4 assists in the playoffs, had only five assists that day.
“These trials always give me strength again. We’ve seen what it takes to get here, and I hope we’ll know what it takes to overcome it,” Paul said.
Although he didn’t win the title, the old man, born in 1985, had a good enough season in Phoenix. He led the team to the playoffs for the first time in 11 years, and pushed the team up to the finals through the fierce Western Conference battlefield.
Paul thanked his team-mates, “I was able to get through a tough season with great teammates. No one thought we would be here but us. But this loss is going to hurt my heart for a while.” told
This summer, Paul is again faced with a choice. With about $44 million in player options, Paul has the freedom to choose between staying in Phoenix and a free agent.
When asked about the free agent, Paul replied, “I lost the final a few minutes ago. I want to focus on this right now. I think the rest will be taken care of.”
What kind of choice will Paul make, who has quenched his thirst for the finals, but left a little disappointment? Attention is drawn to his actions.
