Netizen accused of insulting Sung Si-kyung “It’s really embarrassing”

[이데일리 정시내 기자] A netizen who was sued for leaving a malicious comment on singer Sung Si-kyung is drawing attention.

On the 26th, an article titled ‘Reviews of being sued for insults’ was posted on an online community.

Writer A said, “I was sued by a sg who said he was making a mass accusation.” The accuser is presumed to be Seong Si-kyung. Previously, on January 20, Sung Si-kyung sued a number of people who posted malicious comments.

Mr. A said, “I sued for a single comment in 2019. The content of the comment was, ‘Thinking is short, but the middle part is long’. “When I first got the call, I thought it was voice phishing. However, I was very nervous from then on because my nickname and what I wrote were the same,” he said. He said, “I asked a police officer and he said that defamation is more punishing than insult.”

Mr. A said, “I am really embarrassed to be being investigated. The cybercrime team is being investigated, and there are other police officers. As I write the affidavit, I ask all of them one by one. ‘Is this nickname correct’, ‘Why did you write this content’, ‘Have you ever thought about how the victim would feel if you made a comment like this’, ‘Who did you refer to when you wrote this?’

He also said, “Before returning home, I was informed of the sentence, but my comment was mild compared to the other defendants, and I submitted a reflective letter, so I don’t think there would be much to worry about.” With this incident as an opportunity, I decided not to comment on celebrity-related posts.”

He also shared how to deal with being sued for malicious comments. He said, “’I just accidentally made up my personal views. I think it will be helpful if you say that you are ‘reflecting’. If you do that, the sentence will be lower,” he said.

On January 20, Sung Si-kyung sued malicious commenters for violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation) and insults.

Sung Si-kyung said on YouTube in August that she received a letter of reflection from some malicious commenters after being sued. He said, “The malicious commenters keep sending me letters of reflection. A student from the education side sent a letter of reflection asking for forgiveness, but he said there was no leniency. You shouldn’t work in education because you have a bad heart. As a teacher, don’t try to teach anyone, do something else.”

He made it clear that he would not be lenient, saying, “The punishment is not for me, but because I did it.”
