The Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Belgium and other countries have reported the emergence of a variant of the new crown virus Omi Kron.

The World Health Organization (WHO) warned that the new crown virus variant Omicron (Omicron) has a high risk of greatly increasing the global infection rate.

The WHO said on Monday (November 29) that this variant may cause serious consequences in some areas.

WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus once again called for a global push to provide vaccines to poorer countries.

He warned that COVID-19 “has not spared us yet.”
