Crew case:

Two Cathay Pacific cargo flight crew members (cases 12376 and 12378) both tested the L452R variant virus. The two arrived in Hong Kong from Frankfurt, Germany via cargo plane CX2066 on November 6, and they tested negative at the airport temporary sample collection center and were exempted from quarantine.

Case 12376: A 57-year-old man living in a detached house in Weiyang, Discovery Bay, with his wife, two sons and foreign domestic helpers. The patient has received two doses of Fubitai vaccine and tested positive on November 8 with a CT value of 31 to 34 (showing a low viral load), but was admitted to the Hong Kong Infection Control Center (HKICC) of North Lantau Hospital yesterday (9th) After sampling, the amount of virus increased, and the CHP believes it is a relatively recent infection. The patient took a bus from Discovery Bay to Tung Chung on November 8th, transferred to the ferry to Central, then transferred to the MTR to go to the Admiralty Transport Department to complete the formalities, and also went to the Pret A Manger International Finance Centre in Central for shopping. The patient’s wife is a teacher in the elementary school of Discovery Bay International School, and his two sons are students of the school’s elementary school and kindergarten. All three are asymptomatic and have been admitted to the quarantine center; close contacts of the three include the Discovery Bay International School Approximately 120 students will also be quarantined until three test negative, and the school will temporarily suspend classes.

Case 12378: A 29-year-old man living in Kaiyu, Tsim Sha Tsui with a friend. He has received two doses of Fubitai vaccine. He became ill on November 8 and tested positive on the same day with a CT value of 13 to 16. The value of 17.3 indicates that the amount of virus is still high, which is believed to be a recent case of infection. The patient went to Maison Eric Kayser on Minden Path, Tsim Sha Tsui for dinner on November 7 and the restaurant was subject to mandatory testing; on November 8 he went to Wong Chuk Hang Recreation Ground with friends; and visited 8 other locations during the incubation period before departure, including About 35 people played football at Man Tung Road Park in Tung Chung and Po Tsui Park in Tseung Kwan O. The relevant locations have been subject to mandatory testing. About 60 close contacts of the patient are subject to quarantine.

The patient mentioned that while working in Germany, the ground staff who handed over the documents and filled out the form with him did not wear a mask, but he did. The Center for Health Protection does not rule out that he was infected locally, but he may also be infected in Hong Kong.

Case 12380: A 34-year-old man, a non-local crew member, arrived in Hong Kong from Qatar via flight QR8340 on November 8. At the airport, the results of the sample test were uncertain at the beginning, and the re-examination was positive, and the N501Y variant virus was detected. He has received two doses of Fubitai vaccine and is asymptomatic.

The other two cases were not ruled out as Fuyang:

Case 12377: A 30-year-old foreign domestic helper who lived in the Philippines from March last year to October 17 this year and has received two doses of Modena vaccine. She arrived in Hong Kong on October 17 and was quarantined at Silka Hotel in Tsuen Wan until November 6, during which she tested negative for 6 times. After completing the quarantine on the morning of November 7, she was arranged by her employer to stay at the Rosedale Hotel in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. Shop at Dasheng Life Supermarket on the ground floor of Galway Building in Causeway Bay. The same Nikkei employer arranged to undergo a physical examination at Hong Kong Renhe on the 34th floor of the World Trade Center in Causeway Bay. The result was positive, with a CT value of 35 to 37. The virus load was too low to be genetically sequenced to check whether it was carried. Variant virus. The patient was sampled after admission to HKICC. The virus test was negative and the antibody was positive. The Center for Health Protection believes that she is a recovering case who has recovered.

Case 12379: A 15-year-old girl who has not received the new crown vaccine and has no symptoms. She arrived in Hong Kong with her parents, siblings and brother from Rome, Italy, via flight QR818 via Doha, Qatar, on October 14 and tested negative at the airport. The family stayed at the Empire Hotel in Causeway Bay for quarantine until November 3, during which they tested negative for 6 times. , After completing the quarantine on the morning of November 4, I checked into the Hong Kong Gateway Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, and visited the Ocean Park in the afternoon of November 7 with his family. The patient tested positive on November 8th and found the L452R variant virus with a CT value of 27 to 29, showing a low virus load. On November 9th, the patient was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital and then sampled again. The CT value was also 27, and the antibody was detected. , Showing that the case is not newly infected. After she completed the quarantine, she has visited 9 locations, and these locations have been included in mandatory testing. The patient’s family tested negative and required quarantine; the other three hotel occupants required quarantine, but the authorities did not announce at the press conference which hotel was involved.
