New face coming with Oak Park boards after election results

The majority of boards representing Oak Park tax bodies will see new faces this spring following the election results in April 2.

According to the unofficial findings of the Cook County clerk's office on Friday afternoon, 9,138 ballots were spent in 37 areas across Oak Park.

The race went to four open seats on the school board of Oak Park Area 97 to Jung Kim, 6,975 votes, Cheree Moore, 6,501 votes, president of Holly Spurlock, 6,173 votes and Gavin Kearney, 5,920 votes.

Barika Grant, the District District candidate, came fifth with 2,925 votes.

Oak Park Oak Park District Commissioner Kathleen Porreca led the way with 6,259 votes, followed by newcomers Jake Worley-Hood, 5,092 votes, and Christopher R. Wollmuth, 4,710 votes, and the three seats. were available on the field table. Candidate James Gates completed the fourth with 3,835 votes.

In an uncontested race for three Oak Park Public Library board seats, Theodore N. Foss held 6,391 votes, while Colleen P. Burns, 6,852 votes, and Virginia D. Bloom-Scheirer, 6,687, rounded the results.
